  •          Beverly A. Goldstein, Ph.D. is the 2018 Republican candidate for the United States House of Representative, OH District – 11. She has resided in OH-11 since 1971, is married to an attorney and retired Naval Cryptology Officer.  Bev is the Mother of three children and a grandma of three. Beverly A. Goldstein earned a B.A. in Speech and Hearing and an M.A. in Audiology from Michigan State University. In addition,  obtained her Ph.D. in Audiology and Rehabilitation from Kent State University. Beverly created a home-care audiology private practice in 1994, which has since served thousands of Northeast Ohio homebound elderly persons to communicate with their loved ones. Bev’s legislative initiatives have improved the lives of Ohio children suffering from hearing loss. Bev is also a respected former university professor, an audiology professional and healthcare entrepreneur, and for the past ten years has developed a reputation as a national security grassroots leader and community educator in Ohio.

Beverly has chaired the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) Commission that created the national legislative model for licensure of the professions of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.  She has served as an Audiologist member for The State of Ohio on the Hearing Aid Dealers and Fitters Licensing Board for eight years. She has worked closely with Senator Grace Drake to draft and facilitate passage by the Ohio General Assembly of an Ohio to require mandatory hearing screening of all newborns. This was landmark legislation that revolutionized early identification of hearing loss in Ohio infants, enabling speech-language pathologists to treat language developmental delays prior to the age of 18 months. These children are eligible for immediate language development treatment, and for hearing aids and cochlear implants, which enable them to experience the timely development of language.

Beverly has been honored with several awards from ASHA, Ohio Speech Language and Hearing Association (OSHA) and the State of Ohio for her caring work with persons suffering from communication disorders.

Beverly A. Goldstein started her political and grassroots work as a donor, member, and leader of a number of national and international organizations including the Association of Former Intelligence Officers, ACT for America, Leadership Level of the Republican Jewish Coalition, and Christians United for Israel. She has attended three World Counter-Terrorism Summits of the International Institute of Counter-Terrorism in Herzliya, Israel and more than 100 national security seminars in cities throughout the United States. Bev began teaching national security, foreign policy, and terrorism studies after attending the 2005 annual Association of Former Intelligence Officers (AFIO) National Intelligence Symposium on terrorism at FBI Headquarters in DC.

In 2008, as Vice President of the Beachwood Schools Foundation, Bev created a full-day National Intelligence Briefing for all Beachwood High School students, which was made an official part of the school’s curriculum.  She arranged speakers from FBI, NSA, DIA, Cleveland Fusion Center, former CIA, and other agencies, covering a wide variety of the intelligence spectrum for the students.  On behalf of the Beachwood Schools Foundation, Bev accepted FBI Director Mueller’s Community Leadership Award at FBI Headquarters in Washington, DC in 2009 for creating and implementing this program.

In 2015, Beverly traveled to Israel on a national security mission to view the violent borders in which have become unsafe to visit. She has seen first hand how Iran adversely impacts the direct security of northern Israel through their terrorist proxies living at the lawless southern Lebanese border. Personally viewing the existential danger from Iran toward a democratic nation, has compelled Bev to organize what became the August 2015 Cleveland Stop Iran Nuclear Deal Rally, in hopes of pressuring Congress to vote “No” on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) regarding the “Iran Deal.” Beverly has been lobbying Congress for ten years on national security issues on behalf of several non-profit organizations.
